I live in Montville, NJ 07045. My kids go to school here, and you’ll run into me at the library, the ball fields and the diners like everybody else.
I love Montville. I don’t agree with every call the township, the board or the schools make, and I’ll say so when it matters. But I’d rather show up and take part than complain about it from somewhere else.

Montville Township is in Morris County, New Jersey, about 25 miles west of Manhattan, with roughly 22,000 people. Most people here think of it in pieces: Montville itself along Main Road (Route 202), Towaco with its train station on NJ Transit’s Montclair-Boonton Line, Pine Brook down by Route 46, and the Lake Valhalla neighborhood.
The township split off from Pequannock in 1867. A few of the old Dutch farmhouses are still standing, and the Henry Doremus House in Towaco is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Schools: Montville Township Public Schools runs the elementary schools, Robert R. Lazar Middle School and Montville Township High School. The library is on Horseneck Road. Summer camp is at Camp Dawson, and the town fields are full of Little League and soccer most weekends.
Lake Valhalla is a private lake community with a clubhouse, beach, tennis courts and the field where LVC plays softball all summer.
